Amanda Anisimova reaches the quarters in Bogota

The American reaches the last 8 in Colombia after beating Varvara Lepchenko in straight sets.

Bogota. Amanda Anisimova keeps on winning in Colombia as the 17-year-old beats fellow American Varvara Lepchenko in straight sets in a match that ended at 1.12 in the morning because of a prolonged rain delay.

How Anisimova defeated Lepchenko

Amanda had a rather strong start of the match to grab a 3-0 lead immediately. However, later on, the American failed to serve out the set while she was leading 5-3 when she was broken at love. Eventually, Amanda managed to regroup immediately broke back soon after her opponent and win the opener 6-4.

Anisimova started extremely slow in the 2nd set when she faced a 0-3 deficit. However, the American got back in the groove soon after to conquer the following 4 games using her superior firepower (4-3). Lepchenko managed to win the next game (4-4), but eventually it was the American to conquer the match. The final result was 6-4 6-4, and the contest ended in 74 minutes.
