Federer reaches the final in Rome!

What a performance for Roger Federer!

The world no.2 had a slow start to trail to a 0-3 score line against his friend Stan Wawrinka. Than something changed and Roger started to play at his very best to win 5 of the following 6 games and grab the opening set (6-4). The second set was even smoother for the Maestro that after he lost the 1st game on Stan’s service, he won 5 consecutive games (5-1 for Federer) to then win the match 6-4 6-2. Match Stats.

Federer: I took advantage of Stan breaking down

Roger commented “Stan played well in the first set. In the second set he had a sort of breakdown. He wasn’t serving his best. I was definitely able to take advantage of it. He’s got a good opportunity next week. He’s in the right direction and obviously the win against Rafa was massive for him and his confidence. His game is there. I was very happy how I played. I was able to impose my game. I had a sort of breakdown too but I’ll try not to let it happen tomorrow.”

The final vs. Djokovic

Roger will play Novak Djokovic in what will be the best possible final. Head to head is 20-18 for Roger, 4-3 for the Maestro on clay.
