Novak Djokovic Talks About Missing Us Open

Novak Djokovic had “zero regrets” about missing the US Open as a result of his decision to skip getting a COVID vaccination last year.

Djokovic, who has won 23 Grand Slam tournaments overall, skipped the 2021 and 2022 Grand Slam tournaments in New York City because he refused to get vaccinated. He has stated that he would prefer to skip vaccination over competing in certain nations’ tournaments.

Prior to competing in the Western & Southern Open this week, where he’ll play before heading to Queens, New York for the US Open later this month.

Djokovic defended his choice to skip vaccinations and ultimately miss the Grand Slam competitions in New York when speaking with the media.

He stated during a conversation: “The reason why I was not here for two years, I have zero regrets on that. I’m just glad to be back.”

Considering his career-long success in the United States, Djokovic expressed excitement about returning to the US Open tournament.
