Grigor Dimitrov received a wild card to the main draw where he will challenge the likes of Rafael Nadal, Key Nishikori, Dominic Thiem, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Denis Shapovalov, and Felix Auger Aliasisme just to name some of them.

Ranked no.29, the Bulgarian received the wildcard in Spain where he hopes to have a good run to climb up in the rankings. Last year Dimitrov reached the quarters in Cataluna before losing to Pablo Carreno Busta 6-3 7-6 (4).
