The American beats Kaia Kanepi in straight sets to face Monica Puig for a place in the quarters.

Charleston. Danielle Collins keeps on winning at the Volvo Car Open.

The American hasn’t dropped a single set so far in South Carolina after she defeated Madison Brengle 6-1 6-3, Aliona Boslova 6-3 7-6 (6), and now Kaia Kanepi 7-6 (1) 6-1.

How Collins defeated Kanepi

Danielle won a huge roller-coaster in the first set against the world no.82. The American had to recover twice from a 1-break-down deficit (0-1 and 4-5). The crucial moment of the match was when Kaia failed to serve out the set when she was leading 5-4. That lead the encounter to the tiebreak that Collins won at 1.

The match was much smoother for the American in the second set after she conceded just 1 game to her opponent before winning 7-6 (1) 6-1 in 1 hour and 33 minutes.
