In a funny admission, Coco Gauff said she was confused for Leylah Fernandez in Montreal when someone requested for her autograph thinking she was the famous Canadian tennis player. Gauff revealed in a humorous way that it wasn’t the first time she had been confused for another black player.
On Twitter, Coco revealed that she was occasionally mistaken to be Sloane Stephens, Venus Williams, Serena Williams, Taylor Townsend, Alycia Parks, and recently Leylah Fernandez.
I sign autographs as myself but occasionally I am somehow also signing as Sloane, Venus, Serena, Taylor, Alycia, and yesterday I got Leylah for the first time lollll. https://t.co/bnynHNkwCA
