Naomi Osaka just revealed that her short documentary film “Mink!” has been nominated for an Emmy.
Osaka launched her own production company, Hana Kuma, in June 2022 alongside Stuart Duguid, her longstanding business partner and agency. The business was established in collaboration with NBA legend Lebron James’ SpringHill Company.
The same year, Academy Award-winning filmmaker Ben Proudfoot’s “Mink!” was the first project Naomi Osaka worked on as an executive producer. A short documentary called “Mink!” portrays the life of Patsy Takemoto Mink, a Japanese-American from Hawaii and the first person of color to be elected to the U.S. Congress.
Naomi Osaka announced on July 29, that her project had been nominated for an Emmy in the category of Outstanding Short Documentary.
