After Novak Djokovic’s recent defeat at Wimbledon, his father wants him to retire after 2024. The Serb has had a great career, topping players like Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal with 23 Grand Slam victories.

Djokovic has already won the Australian Open and the French Open this year, and he recently got to the Wimbledon final. The 36-year-old’s father, Srdjan Djokovic, prefers that he retire the next year.

Speaking in “Novak Djokovic – Untold Stories,” a forthcoming documentary,  Djokovic’s father Srdjan Djokovic said: “As far as my wishes for him go, he has already fulfilled them all seven to eight years ago. The rest is this amazing bonus. My wish as a father – I think for some time that he should have stopped working this extremely difficult job.”

His father further stated: “I expect him to be recognized for the things he will do after his career ends as well after he leaves the tennis world, which I hope will happen next year.”

As of right now, Djokovic doesn’t seem to be planning to retire from tennis. The US Open, which starts next month,  is where he is currently focusing on the moment.
