17-year-old Amanda Anisimova is poised to climb up the rankings pretty quickly this year. The Young American is currently the world no.73, but she is no.40 in the Year to Date rankings.

Amanda is about to compete at the Volvo Car Open in Charleston where she is unseeded.

Amanda had a rather good at the Volvo Car Open where she will face the world no.52 Petra Martic in the opener, then Anna Schmiedlova (no.65), the seed no.4 Anastasija Sevastova (no.12), the seed no.7 Julia Goerges (no.15), Kiki Bertens (no.8), and Sloane Stephens (no.6).

The American has no points to defend in Charleston, and she is therefore expected to improve her rankings after the upcoming week.
