Djokovic will not play in Madrid!

Novak Djokovic had an amazing start of the year after winning the Australian Open and 3 consecutive ATP1000 (Indian Wells, Miami and Monte-Carlo). The world no.1 is leading the rankings rather comfortably as he has opened an amazing +5000 gap on his immediate follower (Federer).

According to the Spanish Press (Marca), Nole will not take part to the next ATP1000 in Madrid to take a break after his incredible run. The decision may arise also because the Serbian would not lose any point because last year he skipped the same tournament for injury.

In theory a player should not be allowed to skip a mandatory ATP1000 master event unless he meets 3 criteria: he is 31 year-old, he has played in the tour for more than 12 years and he has played at least 600 professional matches.

Will Nole find a nice excuse for not playing? Fatigue? Let’s see.
