Simona Halep and Petra Kvitova

Simona Halep and Petra Kvitova have a huge chance to grab the world no.1 rank after the Miami Open following Naomi Osaka’s loss in the 3rd round. See how.

How Simona Halep and Petra Kvitova can be world no.1

After losing in the round of 32, Naomi Osaka will have 6021 points at the end of the Miami Open. With Kerber and Svitolina already out, the Romanian can get back her world no.1 rank if she reaches the final (she would have 6042 pts) of the Miami Open and Kvitova doesn’t win the title (6430 pts)

Similarly, Peta Kvitova can become the world no.1 if she is the runner-up (6080), but not to Simona Halep (that would have 6392 pts).
