Milos Raonic and Dominic Thiem are going clash in the semifinal in Indian Wells on Saturday at 11 am.
Raonic
Ranked no.14, Milos is finally playing again rather good tennis. The Canadian has a good 11-4 win-loss record in 2019; he has reached the quarters in Doha and Melbourne before getting to the semifinals in Indian Wells where he defeated Sam Querrey 7-6 (1) 6-4, Marcon Giron 4-6 6-4 6-4, Jan-Lennard Struff 6-4 6-3, and Miomir Kecmanovic 6-3 6-4. Even if Raonic had a great run, it’s difficult not to point out that the highest ranked player that he beat during these 4 matches was Sam Querrey (world no.51).
Thiem
Ranked no.8, Dominic had a lousy 4-4 win-loss record in 2019 before Indian Wells. However, the Austrian managed to get to the semifinal without dropping a single set and after beating Jordan Thompson 6-4 7-5, Gilles Simon 6-3 6-1, Ivo Karlovic 6-4 6-3, and he had a free pass to the semifinal after Gael Monfils retired before playing because of a left Achilles injury.
Monfils withdraws from Indian Wells. Thiem will play Raonic in the semifinal
