Stefanos Tsitsipas scheduling was too busy. OSAKA

Naomi draws an interesting comparison between her and Stefanos in terms of scheduling

Naomi Osaka and Stefanos Tsitsipas are probably the most exciting youngsters in tennis right now. Naomi has already won a couple of slams while Stefanos has “just” broke in the top10.

During the press conference following her successful match against Danielle Collins, Naomi was asked about Tsitsipas’ performance in Indian Well where he lost in the opening match to (a very good) Felix Auger Aliassime.

About Stefanos Tsitsipas playing too much

Naomi commented

“I was going to say, the difference between me and Mr. Top 10 is I didn’t play as many tournaments as him. Like, I think after the Australian Open, he played a ridiculously huge amount of tournaments, and he did well in all of them. So that might have been a problem.

Because for me, I like to focus on, you know, the main tournaments. Not saying that, like, all tournaments aren’t important, but, like, Grand Slams and Indian Wells and Miami, of course, are, like, one of the biggest.

Yeah, I just think, like, scheduling is really important. Like I am having a goal. Like, for me, I just like to have fun now and practice what I’m practicing. Then apply what I’m practicing in matches.”

Tsitsipas’ reply

Stefanos agreed with Naomi’s statement to tweet to call her “Mr no.1”

“Totally agree. I really wish it was as simple as that… Mrs #1. Best of luck!”
