Nishikori faces Ferrer in Acapulco final

Kei Nishikori has reached the final in Acapulco and even more interesting he will achieve a career high no.4 (at least) next week. Interesting enough, if Nadal will not win in Buenos Aires and Kei wins Acapulco he will be ranked no.3

Kei had to survive a sticky Kevin Anderson in the semifinal. After exchanging the first 2 sets, in the decider Kei recovered from being broken in the 1st game (0-1) to win 4 consecutive games (4-1). Eventually the Japanese won the match 2-6 6-3 6-3. Match Stats.

Kei commented “I’m playing my game and it’s going really well. I think my serve was much better in the third set and I was making a lot of returns. It was a tough match but I’m happy to make the final.”
