Things are getting a bit ugly at Wimbledon, where tennis players are understandably upset and stressed by the long and frequent rain delays. Matteo Berrettini is opposed by his dear friend Lorenzo Sonego in the first round, and it will take three days for them to complete the match.
The Wimbledon organization is trying to do everything it can to make things happen, and apparently they stretched their efforts a bit too much during the match between Matteo and Lorenzo. The two Italian players were competing in the late afternoon when the conditions on the court were quite slippery. After Matteo Berrettini had a slip, he threatened the chair umpire to sue him if he got injured.

Matteo said: “We never fell, we started to fall right now. Why do you think it’s happening? Okay, so if I’m going to get injured, I’m going to sue you, okay? I know that you want us to play, you guys are late, we are late, we want to play as well. But I mean, if we’re falling everytime, it’s dangerous. Look what happened, he fell on set point.”
The match was later stopped after his opponent, Lorenzo Sonego, fell. The score 6-7 6-3 7-6 1-1 for Berrettini.
