Teenager humiliates Murray in Dubai

We really didn’t see that coming.

18-year-old Borna Coric has already upset a top guy few months ago in Basel when he defeated Nadal, but the Spaniard was in precarious conditions.

Yesterday Borna had to play Andy Murray that looked to be in ominous form in Dubai, at least in the previous rounds. The teenager conceded just 4 games to the world no.3 to win 6-1 6-3 in 80 minutes. Match Stats

Incredible numbers

What was incredible was not only the entity of the score, but how it was achieved. Coric won most of his service games at love (5 of 8) while Murray struggle in every single service game.  Eventually Coric scored 66 points vs. Murray’s 38. Match Stats

Coric: It was one of the biggest win for me

Borna said that this was “one of the biggest wins, for sure. I was just trying to maintain my level, stay in the rallies as long as I can, which I was doing really well. I was also running very well. I’m still a little bit struggling with the best players when they are playing really good obviously. I always need to be on 100 per cent, and when I’m on 100 per cent, mentally and also tennis wise, then I think I can play with them.”

Murray: He played solid

Andy acknowledged his opponent “He didn’t make many errors. He played very solid and he moved well. I made way too many mistakes from the beginning of the match right through to the end, early in rallies, rushing points.”

Next vs. Roger

Borna will play Roger Federer in the semifinal. This will be their first match.

WHAT A MOMENT FOR BORNA!
