Novak Djokovic stands by his words about Kosovo despite criticism

Novak Djokovic has been criticised for his message about Kosovo, "Stop the violence" in reference to the bloody conflicts between Kosovo authorities and ethnic Serbs.

Djokovic Had His Own Opinion About The Current Unrest In Kosovo

Novak Djokovic defeated Marton Fucsovics on Wednesday to access the third round of the French Open. However, the Serbian sensation has been hitting the headlines for his message about Kosovo.

“Kosovo is the heart of Serbia,” Djokovic wrote on the camera after his second-round encounter on Monday. “Stop the violence,” was a phrase used in reference to the bloody conflicts between Kosovo authorities and ethnic Serbs, who predominate in the northern areas of the country.

When asked to comment on the following criticism, Djokovic revealed that he was very well aware that many people would have disagreed with his message. However he decided to stand by his words.

“I don’t mind saying that. I mean, I would say it again. But I don’t need to because you have my quotes if you want to reflect on that. Of course I’m aware that a lot of people would disagree, but it is what it is. It’s something that I stand for,” he said
