Dayana Yastremska has just conquered her 2nd career title in Hua Hin at just 18 years of age, and she dedicates it to her struggling mother.
What happened?
Dayana revealed how her mother was seriously injured in a freak accident that happened soon after Yastremska played against Serena Williams in Melbourne.
Unfortunately, a bottle of champaign exploded in her face causing a serious eye injury. Dayana’s mother had a 4 hours’ operation in Melbourne where her eye was saved, but it’s not clear if she will be able to recover 100% of her sight.
