Simona Halep managed to end the last 2 seasons as the world no.1, but everything comes to an end (even if that end might be temporary).
Currently ranked no.3, the Romanian is also well known for her great manners and for being one of the most likable players on tour.
During a recent interview, Petra Kvitova disclosed that she was impressed by Simona after the former world no.1 congratulated Petra for her triumph in Sydney and the run in Melbourne where she was the proud runner-up and where she managed to overtake Simona in the rankings (she is now no.2).
Petra commented
“Simona sent me 3 beautiful messages lately: after the Sydney victory after the Australian Open quarterfinals match with Ashleigh Barty and the final with Naomi Osaka.
It’s great we have such a good relationship when we are at the top of the WTA ranking. ”
In the meantime, it is confirmed that Petra will defend the titles in St.Petersburg and Doha. This is a very start of the season for the Czech!
