Iga Swiatek’s loud phone ring during her quarterfinal match against Elena Rybakina at the Italian Open led to a funny interruption.

The arena was filled with the unique sound of a phone ringing during the first set of the match. Swiatek quickly identified the object as being her phone and hurriedly moved to her kit bags in an effort to hush it. The crowd laughed a little when the Pole tried her hardest to find her phone but couldn’t find it.
 When Swiatek finally found her phone, she immediately gave it to a member of her coaching staff.

As Swiatek was regrettably forced to retire due to a right thigh injury, Rybakina earned a place in the semifinals of the Italian WTA 1000 tournament. The World No. 1 retired at 2-6, 7-6(3), 2-2 to end the game.
After a difficult two hours and twenty minutes of play in the decisive set, Iga Swiatek approached the net to shake hands with Elena Rybakina as the scores remained locked at 2-2. With the victory, the Kazakh advances to her first WTA 1000 clay semifinal.
