Agassi embarrassed after IPTL disaster

Tough life for Andre Agassi in Singapore!

The former world no.1 has played a couple of sets for the Singapore Slammers, but he wasn’t really ready for it. Andre took on Santoro and Philippoussis, but it was evident he wasn’t even close to be fit for it.

Andre lost the first set against Santoro 6-2 (Andre couldn’t put a ball in) and then he had to surrender 6-3 to Philippoussis.

The American was replaced for the last day in Singapore as Rafter took on Ivanisevic.

Agassi: I need to be more prepared

Even if this is an exhibition, Agassi still has his “competitive pride” to comment “I wasn’t fond of it being so full-on and competitive. Coming back here I’m a bit embarrassed with the way I was not responding to the environment from a playing perspective.  I would have to make some adjustments and change how much I play so I can flat-out compete and make somebody else look s–tty.

If I do come back I’ll spend a few months trying to get myself better form,”
