In her Indian Wells match against Iga Swiatek, Elena Rybakina says she intends to play aggressively and that she must be at her physical best. Swiatek was defeated by Rybakina in straight sets at the Australian Open this year. So, the semifinal match at Indian Wells will feature Rybakina and Swiatek. Yet, compared to Indian Wells, the Australian Open’s court conditions are substantially faster.

Elena commented: “Yeah, for sure, it’s gonna be different than in Australia. Before the match in Australia, we also played many times. For sure, it’s gonna be a tough match. I’m gonna try to recover and prepare for this one, and, yeah, try my best.”

“I would say there are things, of course, which I’m doing like with an opponent, preparing for each opponent, but overall my game is to be aggressive. As I said, here it’s not easy, but I still have to stick to this game plan and then try to prepare to think with my coaches about what we can do here. Yeah, and just try my best in the end. Physically I need to be ready, for sure,”say Rybakina.
