Frances Tiafoe Family

Mother Alphina Kamara and father Constant Tiafoe welcomed their son Frances into the world on January 20, 1998. In 1991, his parents fled the civil conflict in Sierra Leone and immigrated to the United States.

Constant worked as a construction worker at the Junior National Tennis Center because he didn’t have anything to look forward to. He was given a spare office to dwell in and was hired as an on-site custodian at the same center after they were impressed with his diligent attitude.

In order to supplement their family’s income, Tiafoe’s mother held both a full-time nursing position at a hospital and part-time occupations. Tennis was available to Tiafoe whenever the opportunity arose, and he began playing frequently at the age of four. The American practiced five days a week at the Junior National Tennis Centre, where he improved his abilities far more quickly than other kids. While his mother had days off from work, he spent time with her.

Tiafoe also has a twin brother who goes by the name of Franklin Tiafoe, which is a lesser-known truth about him. In his early years, Franklin also attended the center to train with Frances and seek a career in tennis. He never attained the same level as his brother, therefore he decided to pursue a career as a coach. Franklin began working with the Howard University tennis team as a volunteer coach before honing his craft and going pro.

About Tiafoe’s father

Frances Tiafoe’s father is Constant Tiafoe. During the civil war in 1991, he relocated from Sierra Leone to Washington, D.C. Constant began using tennis as a means of supporting his family and securing his children’s education as soon as he was hired as a custodian at the Junior National Tennis Center. In the tennis center, Frances and Franklin stayed in a compact room with their father. The kids had access to top-notch facilities, but they lacked the funds to purchase pricey tennis equipment. The guys were frequently made to feel uncomfortable by classmates from wealthy backgrounds. Constant, however, progressively raised their standard of living by excelling at his job and ensuring that his kids played tennis with discipline and received the greatest instruction.
