Borna Coric to win the ATP Star of Tomorrow

Borna Coric discloses on Facebook that he will receive the ATP Star of Tomorrow award.

Besides the fact that it is a bit strange that a player announces he will get an award (usually they say “they are proud…etc” soon after getting it), the Croatian says that the recognition will come has he is the youngest player in the top100 (he is 17-year-old).

From Borna

Coric posted “I is my great pleasure to inform you that I will be the winner of the ATP Star of Tomorrow presented by Emirates Airlines.
Being the youngest player to finish the ATP World Tour season inside the Top 100 makes me the winner.
I am looking forward to the award ceremony at the ATP World Tour Finals Race to London next week.
My season still isn’t over. I found out my first round opponent at the ATP Challenger event in Mouilleron Le Captif will be Alexandre Sidorenko.
Hope you follow me. “

The season

Coric is now ranked no.92 and he was outside the top 300 at the beginning of the year. The youngster has won the Izmir Challenger in September. The highlights f his season was his victory against (a struggling) Nadal in Basel in straight sets.
