Murray wins Valencia, receives middle fingers from Robredo

Andy Murray wins an incredible final in Valencia against a great Robredo. These two have already played each other in the Shenzhen final this year when Murray defeated Robredo after saving 5 match points (see article). Funny enough the same just happened in Valencia. Andy faced 5 match points once again to finally win 3-6 7-6 (7) 7-6 (8). The final ended after 3 hours and 20 minutes.  Match Stats.

Murray: I like playing here

Andy commented

“I know it was an incredible match. The tennis at the end and in the second set was high level. I played well at the right moments.

I like playing here. It’s a nice place to come this time of year. It’s extremely warm outside which is good for the muscles, the joints and the mind as well. I came to train here earlier in the year. Good food, good weather and good people.”

The hug at the net

The funniest part of everything was the hug between Andy and Tommy after the battle. Robredo jokingly sowed the double fingers to the Scott and everything ended up with laughing. Great stuff!
