Rafael Nadal has just parted ways with his historical coach, Francisco Roig, who will start a new personal project. Rafa announced the addition of a new team member on Monday, three days after revealing his breakup with coach Francisco.
Gustavo Marcaccio will be part of Rafa’s team, along with Carlos Moya and Marc Lopez. He has been an employee of the Rafa Nadal Academy since April 2021.
Rafa posted the following message on Instagram: “Hello everyone. I want to inform you of the addition of Gustavo Marcaccio to the technical team. Gustavo has been working at the @rafanadalacademy since April 2021 and I believe he is a good addition to the team. It sure will help us a lot to stay on the way. Welcome Gustavo!”

Ranked no.2, Rafael played his last match on the 17th of November when he defeated world no.3 Casper Ruud 7-5 7-5 in the round robin in the Nitto ATP Finals (draw).
At present, during this year Rafael has achieved a composed 39-8 record. The Spaniard conquered 4 titles in 2022 in Melbourne, Australian Open, Acapulco and French Open. The Spaniard got to the final in Indian Wells.
Nadal has scheduled to compete next in Australian Open (Australian Open). He will begin to play the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 16th of January.
