Viktor Troicki's Serbia take on Casper Ruud's Norway in a Davis Cup qualifier in February. The winner of the qualifier will access the Davis Cup Finals.

Viktor Troicki, the captain of Serbia’s Davis Cup team, acknowledged that Norway wouldn’t be a simple opponent but added that he was counting on Novak Djokovic to be available for his nation. Serbia and Norway will compete in a Davis Cup qualifier in February, with the winner moving on to the Davis Cup Finals.

Casper Ruud, the world’s third-ranked player, who has advanced to two Grand Slam finals this year, will likely serve as the host nation’s leader. Ruud, who, in Troicki’s opinion, is Norway’s only quality player, will make them a difficult opponent.

Will Djokovic play the Davis Cup vs. Norway?

The 2023 Davis Cup qualifying round will be held from 3 to 5 February 2023, just a few days after the Australian Open, which will end on the 29th of January.

Troicki commented: “We hope that Novak will play in Melbourne until the end and therefore it remains to be seen if he will be able to be with us in Norway.

But we have a strong team and I expect the rest of the team to be ready.
