The Ultimate Tennis Showdown, a competition with a cutting-edge format that was developed during the pandemic by Patrick Mouratoglou and Alex Popyrin (an entrepreneur and the father of tennis player Alexei Popyrin) and will return in 2023.

The competition’s four eight-minute playing periods, which replace the traditional “15” count, stand out above its other features. Each eight-minute period is won by the tennis player who has the most points at the end of it. The possibility for each player to use a bonus “card,” the availability of only one serve, the 15-second shot clock between points, interviews during the game, and on-field coaching are some other unique aspects of the event.

In contrast to the previous edition, the exhibition will be held in four distinct phases, each taking place on a different continent and at a different time of the year: the United States from July 20 to July 23, Europe from September 14 to September 17, Asia/Middle East from November 30 to December 3, and finally Asia/Middle East for the exhibition’s grand finale from December 7 to 10.

FĂ©lix Auger-Aliassime, Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Zverev, Dominic Thiem, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Taylor Fritz also competed in the 2020 edition, which was won by Berrettini.
