‘People sometimes think I’m fake,’ says Novak Djokovic mentioning his vaccination status

Djokovic is a very kind soul, but his loving behavior is frequently misinterpreted as something fake. This is what he said about this argument

Novak Djokovic Celebration

Novak Djokovic is not only one of the best tennis players in history but also a fascinating character. Novak is well known for always expressing his ideas even if sometimes are not politically correct. Nole is also a very kind soul, but his loving behavior is often confused for something not genuine.

During a recent interview with the Italian outlet La Stampa, Djokovic commented:

“I know that people sometimes think I’m fake, that I do certain things because I want to be loved. It’s not like that; I’m just trying to be genuine. It’s something we’re losing. It is not possible to please everyone, but by now, the politically correct forces us to give up expressing our ideas with respect, without hatred, but with freedom. Freedom of speech for me today is just an illusion.”

Djokovic and his vaccination

Novak Djokovic faced a lot of trouble because he refused to be vaccinated against the coronavirus. Novak was famously deported from Australia. He could not compete in the US Open and in 4 top tournaments (ATP1000) in North America. Unfortunately, he was often considered the poster boy of the so-called NoVax Movement.

“I had an extraordinary example of this year, with what happened to me around the vaccine issue. I expressed myself for the freedom to be able to dispose of one’s body, and immediately I was accused of being a no-vax, which I am not. If you don’t belong to a certain way of thinking, you quickly become the bad guy. That’s no good,” he added.
