US Open: Hingis reaches a slam doubles final after 12 years!

Can you believe it? At 33 years of age Martina Hingis is back at the top of tennis in doubles!

The Swiss has been partnering with Flavia Pennetta at the Flushing Meadows to reach the final after dismissing Black and Mirza 6-2 6-4.

Martina has won her last title in a slam (doubles) in 2012 at the Australian Open.

Hingis: I got goosebumps

The Swiss commented “I got goosebumps over the last three games. There was so much tension and nerves out there as I don’t know how many more chances I will get to play again. I enjoy every second. I only won one title here in doubles. That was a while back in ’98. I made some good matches, like some great memories, but it’s been a while. So it’s like I really cherish this moment because I have had some great matches, but also in doubles I didn’t feel like I had too many opportunities,”

Martina and Flavia reach this final without dropping a single set after defeating 3 seeded teams. They will now face Makarova and Vesnina for the title.
