The ATP and WTA have announced the newly-minted United Cup. Male and female top tennis players will fight for their countries in what will be the first competition of the new season. Rafael Nadal and Iga Swiatek are going the highest-ranked players who will participate in the event.
The United copper has announced its schedules. The competition will start on the 29th of December and will end on the 8th of January. These are the schedules.
Rafael Nadal in 2022
Currently ranked no.2, Nadal played his last match on the 2nd of November when he was defeated by world no.29 Tommy Paul 3-6 7-6(4) 6-1 in the 2nd round in Paris (draw).
Until now, during this year Rafael achieved a 38-6 win-loss record. Nadal clinched 4 titles in 2022 in Melbourne, Australian Open, Acapulco and French Open. Rafael was the runner-up in Indian Wells.
Iga Swiatek in 2022
WLWLWWWWLW Now ranked no.1, the Pole played her last match on the 6th of November when she surrendered to world no.5 Aryna Sabalenka 6-2 2-6 6-1 in the semifinal in Fort Worth (draw).
During this season the Pole has a compiled 67-9 match record. Swiatek has won 8 titles in 2022 in Doha, Indian Wells, Miami, Stuttgart, Rome, French Open, U.S. Open and San Diego. Iga was the runner-up in Ostrava.
