Naomi Osaka is well-known for not being very keen on playing many tournaments during the season. The Japanese sensation seems to struggle with some mental issues and also injuries. This year Naomi played only 23 matches. During a recent Q&A session, when asked to comment about Naomi Osaka, Martina Navratilova did not sound very impressed with her.
Martina said that Naomi needs to understand what she wants to do because time is running out.
“What is going on with her? Is she not playing at all? Maybe it was too much too soon. But, you know, that’s when the gut check comes; do you really love the sport? It comes back to that. I think the players need to just stay in the moment, and if they love the sport, great, if they don’t, that’s OK, too. But figure it out; make up your mind because time’s running out.”
