US Open results. Bouchard through, Ivanovic out

Genie Bouchard and Ana Ivanovic had two different destinies at the 2014 US Open

Bouchard

Genie is trying to find her form after a terrible North American summer (1-4 win/loss). It seems that the Canadian is getting right at the Flushing Meadows to reach the 3rd round. Last match wasn’t easy as Sorana Cirstea offered a great opposition. Genie found herself in an awkward position: the Canadian squandered a smooth 6-2 2-0 lead to win the battle only in the third set 6-2 6-7(4) 6-4.

Genie will play Strycova in the next round. Head to head is 2-0 for Bouchard.

Ivanovic

The Serbian Beauty disappointed once again in a slam to lose in the second round to Karolina Pliskova 7-5 6-4. Match Stats

After the match Ana admitted she has to understand why she doesn’t perform in slams “This is exactly what I think I have to reassess. I had great lead-ups to every Grand Slam, I played a lot of matches, and I won a lot of matches. And big matches as well. But at the Grand Slams I just haven’t performed that well. It’s something that I’m definitely going to work on and see where I can improve, because that’s definitely a big aim for me for the next season.”

Ana reached a prestigious final in Cincinnati a couple of weeks ago.
