Daniil Medvedev is a very happy person right now not only for winning the ATP 500 in Vienna but also and especially for becoming a father for the first time. Daniil’s wife Daria gave birth to a baby girl roughly 2 weeks before he started his run in Austria. During the ceremony that followed the final, Daniil looked uncharacteristic emotional when he dedicated the trophy to his wife.
“I’m gonna dedicate this title to my wife because she gave me the most beautiful present ever – my daughter. I was there and these emotions are much more than winning any title.”

WLWLWWWWLW Ranked no.4, Medvedev played his last match on the 30th of October when he overcame world no.19 Denis Shapovalov 4-6 6-3 6-2 in the final in Vienna to win his 15th career title.
This year Daniil achieved a composed 45-15 match record. Daniil conquered 2 titles in 2022 in Los Cabos and Vienna. Daniil reached the final at the Australian Open, in Hertogenbosch and in Halle.
