What a week for Jo Wilfred Tsonga!
The Frenchman was having a lousy year for his standards to make it up with an incredible tournament in Toronto where he has defeated Djokovic, Murray, Dimitrov and Federer!
Tsonga was definitely the better player to score 92 points vs. Federer’s 78. The Frenchman had 7 break points (only 1 converted) while Federer wasn’t able to gain any opportunity to break. Match Stats.
Tsonga: I am not realizing what I have done
Jo commented I feel good. I think for the moment I don’t realize really what I achieved this week, but it’s a big achievement for me. It’s completely different than before when I won in Paris. In Paris it was the first one, behind my family, all my friends, everybody. Here I just did it with my level, with my game. I played well all week. I beat many good guys. It’s a big achievement because I worked really hard to come back from my knee injury last year.”
This is Tsonga 11th career title and after this week he will be ranked world no.10.
