Novak Djokovic reveals how he sustained his wrist injury when he was in London playing the Laver Cup

Novak Djokovic Wrist Injury Beefore Telaviv

Novak Djokovic arrived in Tel Aviv on Monday after he played the Laver Cup over the weekend. Unfortunately, the 21-time slam champion sustained a right wrist injury when competing in London on Saturday and Sunday. Therefore, after defeating Frances Tiafoe in his first singles match with a straightforward 6-1 6-3 scoreline, he capitulated at the hands of Felix Auger Aliassime in the following singles match in just 2 sets.

Injury update

Novak Djokovic revealed that the reason for his injury was that he did not play for long before London and the balls were quite heavy.

“I have struggled with my right wrist for the last four or five days. Still, everything is under control, and I should be playing next week. Two matches I played on Saturday probably took their toll, and it was not easy for me to play on Sunday,” Djokovic revealed.

I could not serve well against Felix, which affected my entire game. I did not have issues with that wrist for a long time, and I probably felt it due to not playing for almost three months. The balls are big and slow here in London, and you must generate a lot of wrist action. That has caused the soreness in my right wrist ever since I started practicing here,”
