What a match! Serena had to tame an inspired Ivanovic to reach the final 4 in Stanford.
Ana started in great fashion grabbing a 5-1 lead in the opener playing amazing tennis. After losing the first set (6-2), Serena had to immediately regroup to win an early break (2-0) in the second and bring the match to the decider.
The third set was full of ups and downs, but eventually was Serena to grab the decisive break in the 11th game to finally win 2-6 6-3 7-5.
Serena will play Andrea Petkovic in the semifinal. The German defeated Venus Williams in another thriller 6-1 3-6 7-5.
