Tough decision and tough moment for Ajla Tomljanovic.
The 21-year-old has decided to change her citizenship to Australia and that wasn’t well received from her former compatriots.
Tomljanovic was heavily criticized on her Facebook page by people saying she is a traitor and a shameful person for doing so.
Ajla got this decision so as to take advantage of a better “tennis environment” in Australia to comment “I am not disappointed in the Croatian Tennis Association, as I am aware of what the Croatian Tennis Association is. For a long time already I haven’t expected anyone’s help regarding my career and all my results I have achieved by myself and with the help of my family. I believe that Australia, with the services that I will have available there, will help me make my dreams come true. “
Ajla will probably move to Brisbaine and now ranked no.55 she will be the Australian no.3 after Stosur and Dellacqua.
