Emma Raducanu has just lost in the quarter-final to Jessica Pegula after bagging a couple of great wins in Cincinnati where she defeated back-to-back Serena Williams and Victoria Azarenka.
Emma will defend her US Open title in a couple of weeks. She had a rather tough year as she is still struggling to find the right balance in her tennis. This is what she said during the press conference that followed her match against Pegula.
“I think I do each of the aspects pretty well, separated. But I just need to put them together. For example, some weeks, I have served really, really well. I think over the clay in the beginning I served really well. Then like some weeks, I don’t know, it would just disappear and then I will become more of a defensive player. Then I will become more of an attacking player.
So I think I am still trying to find the balance and just trying to package my game together more so. But like I said, every match at this level I figure out what works, what doesn’t work, how I should be hitting the ball. I feel more confident in what I’m doing now.”

LLWWWWLWWL Now ranked no.13, Raducanu played her last match on the 18th of August when she was overcome by world no.8 Jessica Pegula 7-5 6-4 in the 3rd round in Cincinnati (draw).
Currently, during this season Raducanu has a composed 13-15 record.
Raducanu has scheduled to play next in U.S. Open (U.S. Open). She will begin to play the tournament from the main draw on the 29th of August.
