‘Our H2H is a laugh,’ Kyrgios comments about Carreno-Busta’s success

Nick Kyrgios commented about Pablo Carreno-Busta having a better record than him on ATP1000 tournaments and slams played on hard court

Kyrgios Vs. Carreno Busta

Nick Kyrgios and Pablo Carreno-Busta are probably not best friends. A couple of years ago (September 2020), for some reason Nick had a shot at Pablo Carreno-Busta wrongly say that without clay courts tournaments, the Spaniard would not be even close to being a top 50 player. Besides the fact that it is not nice to have a blast at a colleague, his statement was also wrong because Pablo Carreno-Busta is probably better at playing on hard courts than on clay.

Pablo has just won his first ATP 1000 in Montreal, a tournament that is played indeed on hard courts. Obviously, Kyrgios was targeted by many users on Twitter for his post. The official account of “We Are Tennis” (163k followers) made a comparison between Nick Kyrgios (0 ATP1000 titles and 0 slam semis on hard court) vs. Carreno-Busta (1 ATP1000 titles and 2 slam semis on hard court).

The H2H

Nick Kyrgios did not miss the chance to comment on this post, saying that day he is fine and anyway, his head-to-head record against the Spaniard is “a laugh.”

Nick Kyrgios and Pablo Carreno-Busta played each other 3 times. Their head to head is 3-0 for Kyrgios. Previously, the last time they fought against each other, Nick Kyrgios won 6-4 6-2 in the quarter in Halle (Noventi Open) on the 17th of June 2022.
