Wozniacki: Checking for white underwears would be creepy

Caroline is a bit worried by a new rule in Wimbledon

Wimbledon is Wimbledon, tradition has to be preserved and rules have to be observed.

Last year King Roger was forced to change his shoes because of the orange sole (see article). This year there is a new rule that players have to be checked if they wear white knickers.

Wozniacki: Usually I do not wear colored underwear if it needs to be white…

Caroline Wozniacki is a bit worried about the enforcement of this new rule “Usually I don’t wear coloured underwear whenever you have to wear white. If the colour of the bra is really bright and the top is see-through, you can see it. I guess white is white and everyone wears white. It is the same for everyone.”

… checking would be creepy

The former world no.1 added “I don’t think anyone is showing off their underwear like that and getting it checked. That would be pretty creepy.”

The rule

Some players have already been forced to play without the bra because it wasn’t entirely white. Last year some players like Serena Williams did wear colorful underwears, this year the rules won’t allow that. In fact, players have to wear all-white undergarments with the exception of a colored trim that has to max 1 cm wide. “Off-white or cream” clothing is forbidden.

As we said… Wimbledon is Wimbledon.
