Sharapova annihilates another player in Wimbledon

Another “ouch match” from Maria Sharapova. In the first match the Russian Beauty conceded just 1 game to Samantha Murray; now the world no.5 conceded only 3 games to world no. 85 Timea Bacsinszky.

Maria was just on another dimension to win 56 points vs. Timea’s 32.The match ended after 60 minutes.  The Swiss wasn’t so an unhappy from her loss.  In fact just few months ago she was just working in a hotel (!!!) and qualifying from the main draw was already a great success for her… let alone facing the great Sharapova on the Centre Court!

From Maria

The world no.5 commented “The first couple of matches are really crucial in terms of working on so many things as a grass court player and trying to make that transition from clay as quickly as possible,” Sharapova said. “The grass is quite different from the practice courts. Once you get out there, you try to focus a little bit more on executing better and not letting your focus go. That has been important in the last couple of matches.”

Next vs. Riske

Maria will play world no. Alison Riske. Head to head is 1-0 for Maria that is the hot favorite to reach the 4th round.
