Wimbledon. Nadal scared of his first round against Klizan

Rafael Nadal is definitely the King of Clay, but on grass it is a different story. Even if the Spaniard had a glorious past in Wimbledon (2 titles), he is really struggling on grass in the recent years. The last time he has won a match on this surface was in 2012: he crashed out in the first round last year (Darcis) and in the second 2 years ago (Rosol). This year he was badly trashed by Dusting Brown in the Halle opener.

Nadal will play a dangerous Klizan in the opener. Ranked 57, the Slovakian is immensely talented and he knows he can have a shot at Rafa.

Nadal: I think only about the first match

“I don’t see farther than today. I have a tough first round against Klizan. For the last two years I lost in the first and second round. I start from the first round in every surface. You can imagine even more here on grass.

Personally I feel that I am doing things better. It is true that for the last couple of years I didn’t play lot of matches on grass, but I am confident that I can do it again. I am not talking about winning, rather talking about play better than what I did the last couple of years on grass.”

Head to head is 1-0 for Rafa that has won against Klizan in 4 set at the 2013 French Open.
