Daria Kasatkina had a rather emotional interview with Russian blogger Vitya Kravchenko who asked her about fellow Russian Nadya Karpova, a footballer, coming out. Being gay in Russian is extremely tricky and Daria said he had full respect for Nadya.
Daria said: “My respects to Nadya Karpova, attagirl. I was happy for her, but also other people, especially girls who needed to know that. It has empowered them for sure, supported them.
Not only did Nadya help herself by coming out and get this burden off her chest, she has also helped others.”

Kasatkina coming out
When asked if she is homosexual, Daria did not hesitate to confirm adding she also has a girlfriend. Kasatkina also added that it was too tricky to hide her sexuality as that would take too much energy.
“Living in the closet is impossible. Not for the long run, no. It is too hard. It is pointless, you will be completely focused on that until you choose to come out. Of course, it is up to you to decide how to do it and how much you tell.
Living in peace with yourself is the only thing that matters, and fuck everyone else.”
Nice to see Daria getting rid of this burden.
Who is Kasatkina’s girlfriend?
Daria didn’t mention the name of her girlfriend. However, soon after the interview was published, she posted a picture on Instagram with Olympic skater Natalia Zabiiako. Natalia also pinned a pic of them on her Instagram.
