Emma Raducanu has a rather peculiar career. The British sensation won her first major last year, coming straight from the qualifications and without the drop in a single set for the entire tournament. Also, Emma had very little experience with playing at a professional level.
Emma is currently playing her first full season as a professional player and struggling to adapt. Nevertheless, former British no.1 Laura Robson still believes that Raducanu is a huge inspiration for the UK.
Talking with Tennis365, Laura commented:
“There is no doubt that Emma has had a massive impact on young people. They see what she achieved at the US Open and they want to try and tennis. That is great for our sport.”
Emma is sometimes unfairly criticized for being involved with the brands. However, Laura confirms that Raducanu has been working extremely hard to be as competitive as possible.
“She has already been at the highest of highs and I have no doubt she will get back to that level once she has a run of matches.
I see her at the National Tennis Centre and she is always working so hard, so her time will come again. She is still so young and we shouldn’t worry about someone who has already won a Grand Slam title,” she added.

LLWWWWLWWL Now the world no.10 (career-high), the Brit played her last match on the 29th of June when she lost to world no.48 Caroline Garcia 6-3 6-3 in the 2nd round in Wimbledon (draw).
Currently, during this year Raducanu achieved a compiled 9-12 record.
