In-form Wozniacki breezes past Stephens in Eastbourne

Caroline Wozniacki might be heartbroken after her sudden split with McIlroy, but apparently she is finding her way back in tennis.

Caroline looks supremely fit and she had just no problems at beating Sloane Stephen 6-3 6-3. The Dane was in completely control in both sets to break Sloane 3 times without dropping a single service game. Math Stats

The numbers

Wozniacki: I feel great

Caroline commented “I feel great – it’s amazing to be playing out here and Sloane is a tough opponent so I’m really pleased about the way the match went. I’m through to the next round and hopefully I can get at least one more match out here on the grass.

I felt like I played very consistently. I ran down everything really well and I just tried to take the ball as early as possible.”

Next vs. Giorgi

Caroline will play Camila Giorgi in the quarters. The Italian is having a great tournament after defeating Azarenka in the first round. Head to head is 1-0 for Camila that has upset Caroline in the third round of last year’s US Open.
