Incredible: world no. 85 Brown humiliates Nadal in Halle

What was that?

Dustin Brown plays an incredible match against Nadal to trash the world no. 1 6-4 6-1 in 59 minutes.

Dustin played an amazing match to leave just nothing to Rafa that didn’t even play that bad. The funny German was just going for broke every single point with an astonishing percentage.

The match was pure entertainment. In the first set both players were holding their serve easily. On one side Dusting was playing serve and volley flying all over the places, on the other side Rafa was relying on his opponent poor returns. Brown was attacking at every single point on Rafa’s serve, but he could not find his range. Things changed dramatically in the 10th game of the opening set when Brown started to put in every single return at the speed of light. That was absolutely game over as the German won the opening set 6-4 and then he trashed Nadal in the second set. Match Stats

This was probably one of the most entertaining matches in tennis history. To be honest Rafa didn’t do anything wrong, it is just that we have never seen a guy playing like that. The problem of the German is that he obviously cannot keep this standard , otherwise he would have won 10 titles in Wimbledon.

Nadal: I lost to a better player

Rafa didn’t have much to say “I lost today because my rival was playing better than me. And at the same time, as I said yesterday, the transition from clay to grass is difficult, especially when you arrive a little bit tired and not at 100 per cent. But I tried my best.”

Brown: I had a plan and it worked out

Dustin commented “I’ve had a lot of great wins before, but this was my first time playing against a World No. 1, at home in Germany and on grass – my best surface. Everything came together. I tried to play my game as aggressively as possible.

“I took away the big things in Nadal’s game that make him the unbelievable player that he is. I hit a lot of big serves. I had a plan and it worked out.”

Next vs. Kohlschreiber

Dustin will play Kohlschreiber in the quarters. Head to head is 1-0 for Philipp and that was in Halle 2012. If Brown plays like yesterday there is no chance for Kohlschreiber, actually there is no chance for anybody in the world.

Refreshing stuff.
