Another day, another upset!
This edition of the Roland Garros is rather funny on the women side. After 3 rounds we have already lost the top 3 seeds and the youngsters seem to take full advantage of it.
Now it is world no.72 Ajla Tomljanovic from Croatia to upset Agnieszka Radwanska 6-4 6-4. In the first set the Pole had a shocking start to be immediately be 5-1 down. Agnieszka tried to recover, but eventually she lost the set at 4. The second set was much more even with Tomljanovic breaking Aga in the very first game to win the second set also at 4.
Tomljanovic commented “After seeing, you know, the two first seeds go out, you kind of feel like I can do this, too. I grew up with these girls that are beating them. I went out there and I really thought I could win. I think that showed and it is why I got over the line.”
