Gulbis wins his 6 career title in Nice!

Ernests Gulbis wins another title in 2014.

The Latvian has already won a tournament this year in France (Marseille) to double it in Nice on the dirt.

Ernests was treating Nice as a build up tournament for the French Open, but eventually this “training” ended up with 250 points and a nice 77.315 Euros (no bad for a warm up).

The final against Delbonis was one way traffic in the first (6-1) set to become a battle in the second. The Argentine refused to give way to Ernests to bring the set to the breaker that the Latvian won at 5. Match Stats.

Gulbis: I really like south of France

“I am really happy to win here. My next goal is to be Top 10, even Top 8. I think if I play well in the Grand Slams, I have a good chance. It’s tough to kick out somebody from the top as there’s a lot of good players but I am working on it.

I really like the South of France, I’ve repeated it many times, I think I will be coming here on vacation and I think you are going to see me a lot around this area.”… well.. winning Nice and Marseille definitely helped.

Ernests will now head to Paris where he is going to play Kubot in the first round.
