FRENCH OPEN. Zverev unhappy to see Alcaraz among favorites for the title instead of him

Sascha Zverev doesn't agree with the betting companies considering Alcaraz among the top favorites

Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev played the final in Madrid a couple of weeks ago when the young Spaniard demolished Zverev 6-3 6-1. During the ceremony, Zverev admitted that at that specific moment Alcaraz was the strongest tennis player in the world. However, it seems as if Sascha had a change of heart.

Zverev’s brother, Mischa, during a recent interview with Eurosport, revealed that Sascha was not happy with the bookies considering Alcaraz among the top favorites ahead of him.

Mischa commented: “Sascha said that the betting providers predict that Alcaraz would have the best chance of winning the French Open. Then he said: ‘You know, when it was Nadal or Djokovic back then, it was okay. Now Alcaraz – no!’”

Zverev and Alcaraz may face off in the quarters in Paris. That would be a very interesting match to watch.
